Academic Medical Center and University of Ruhuna, Sri Lanka to collaborate on research and education activities

We are excited to announce that the University of Amsterdam’s Academic Medical Center (AMC-UvA) and the University of Ruhuna, Sri Lanka have formally agreed to collaborate on joint educational, cultural and research activities over the next three years. Collaborations may include activities such as teaching and academic programs, research projects, student and faculty exchange, and participation in seminars and meetings. The Memorandum of Understanding was executed by Prof. Hans Romijn (Dean and Chairman of the Board, AMC-UvA), Prof. Saman Wimalasundara (Dean, Faculty of Medicine, Univeristy of Ruhuna Sri Lanka) and Senior Professor Gamini Senanayaka (Vice Chancellor, University of Ruhuna, Sri Lanka) during a meeting in Sri Lanka on December 7, 2017 in the presence of Prof. Frank Cobelens (Chair, Executive Board, AIGHD / Chair, Dept of Global Health, AMC), Dr. Guus ten Asbroek (Education Coordinator, AMC / AIGHD) and Prof. Vijitha de Silva (Adjunct professor, Faculty of Medicine, University of Ruhuna, Sri Lanka).

AIGHD looks forward to our continued collaboration with the AMC and the University of Ruhuna for the benefit of our students and researchers and to advance our shared goals in global health.
