INTEREST2022: One month left

INTEREST 2022 is just around the corner and AIGHD and Virology Education are gearing up for the first in-person INTEREST in three years. Here are some things you need to know about the event this coming May 10-13.

INTEREST will be hybrid this year, so you can attend in person in Kampala, Uganda, or watch the sessions livestreaming online.

This year, INTEREST will have a new Scientific Chair, Dr. Kwasi Torpey. Dr. Torpey is a public health physician, HIV clinician, program manager, and researcher at the University of Ghana. He has worked closely with the organizing committee to plan the very exciting and unique scientific programme.

Alongside the scientific programme, there will be capacity-building sessions (mentoring, grantspersonship, and poster tours) available for all early-career researchers registered for the conference.

Every year, the highest-scoring abstract submitted to INTEREST is honored with the Joep Lange Award. This special recognition for outstanding research is announced during the conference each year. The recipient receives free registration plus travel and accommodation to attend the next INTEREST. This year, there will be an additional award to honor the late Dr. Charles Boucher. The Charles Boucher Award recipient receives free registration and all travel and accommodation costs to attend the next INTEREST conference.

Registration for the INTEREST conference is still possible and you can register here.
