AIGHD is looking for a part-time or freelance Management Assistant!
Management Assistant – 16 hours per week (0.4 FTE)
Duration: until 31 December 2025
Start date: as soon as possible.
About AIGHD
The Amsterdam Institute for Global Health and Development (AIGHD) strives for equal opportunities for health and well-being for all. We are a collaborative institute of various faculties and schools from the Universiteit van Amsterdam (UvA) and Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam) with a mission to address challenges in global health and development through research and education. AIGHD conducts collaborative, interdisciplinary research on major health themes of global importance in relation to human development and aims to educate and inspire the next generation of global health leaders at undergraduate, post-graduate, and professional levels. AIGHD aspires to accelerate progress on global health objectives by sharing knowledge and insights with global agencies, governments, NGOs, and the scientific community.
Our work influences Dutch, EU, and Global Health strategies through innovative and cross-disciplinary work that enhances our understanding of infectious and non-communicable diseases seen through various scientific lenses. We work closely with partners from all over the world in an effort to broaden humanity’s knowledge and to combat deadly diseases such as COVID and HIV as well as Antimicrobial Resistance, Climate Change, and Digital Health.
Task, responsibilities and requirements:
- Hard requirement: You must be legally permitted to work in The Netherlands. We are not able to sponsor a visa for this position. If you are a Freelancer/ZZP’er, you need to be registered with the KVK. We are able to provide an employment contract of 0,4 FTE or 16 hours per week.
- Secretarial, administrative, and organizational support of the Executive Board members.
- Project support; Moving closer to AUMC, making notes, memos and reports.
- Administrative PhD & Fellows support
- Taking care of incoming and outgoing correspondence by e-mail and post mail.
- Pro effectively manage complex calendars of the Executive Board, including scheduling, rescheduling, and prioritizing appointments and meetings.
- Preparing (board) meetings: planning, arranging meeting rooms or video conference calls, set up meetings.
- Reporting of internal meetings and monitoring of follow-up
- Receiving and guiding visitors
- Bachelor or Master degree
- Experience: 1-3 years
- Good command of English, and preferably also Dutch (but not required)
- Comfortable using office tools such as Outlook, Sharepoint and Teams.
- Able to work on Mondays, the management assistant needs to be present in the office 2 days per week.
