Jaime obtained a BSc in Biological Sciences followed by an MRes in Biomedical Research at Imperial College London. His research focuses on unravelling microbial mechanisms of diseases and its interaction with the immune system. Currently, he is a research fellow under the guidance of Constance Schultsz where he aims to investigate genetic determinants that confer Streptococcus suis with zoonotic potential for the CANVAS project. In particular, he is interested in using a combination of genomic analysis and basic biology research to identify and explore key molecular mechanisms during S. suis zoonotic outbreaks.
