Lucia is a medical doctor trained in Italy, where she is currently completing her residency program in anesthesiology and intensive care. Alongside her clinical training, she is a PhD Fellow working under the supervision of Prof. Arjen M. Dondorp, Prof. Pieter R. Tuinman, and Prof. Luigi Pisani. Her research explores the use of lung ultrasound to improve the diagnosis and monitoring of critically ill pediatric and adult patients in low-resource settings. In this framework, she collaborates with international clinical and research teams to implement these findings in global health settings, aiming to empower clinicians with accessible and practical diagnostic tools.
