Nwanneka Okere, MSc trained as a Pharmacist and obtained her master’s in international health degree at the Charite University Berlin, Germany. Prior to enrolling for her PhD studies at the Amsterdam Institute for Global Health and Development, University of Amsterdam. She worked in the public health sector of her home country, Nigeria, leading, monitoring, and evaluating public health interventions in HIV, TB, and Malaria programs.
Nwanneka’s passion is in applying appropriate research methodologies to develop data-driven solutions to public health problems, especially in low- and medium-income countries. To accomplish this, she has collaborated with multidisciplinary teams and multiple stakeholders in Nigeria, Tanzania and the Netherlands. Her PhD is funded by the European Union, Erasmus Mundus Joint Doctorate Transglobal Health program. Her research is being conducted at the Test & Treat project, Shinyanga, Tanzania under the supervision of Prof. Tobias Rinke de Wit. It seeks to explore the impact of differentiated HIV service delivery from patients and providers perspectives to promote more patient-centered service delivery.
