AIGHD’s Peter Reiss nominated for Amsterdammer of the Year

The Amsterdam Institute for Global Health and Development is pleased to share that prof. Peter Reiss has been nominated for Amsterdammer of the Year.

Organized by the Amsterdammer of the Year Foundation, the annual award recognizes citizens who have made an outstanding contribution to the city and elevated the profile of Amsterdam in a meaningful way. Peter is nominated for his decades-long contributions to HIV both inside and outside of Amsterdam, including in his role as local co-chair for AIDS 2018. The conference took place in July and was attended by more than 16,000 delegates from around the world. It was the first time since 1992 that the conference was held in Amsterdam.

Peter is one of 10 nominees; the winner will be determined through voting on the organization’s website.

Voting is open until January 19 and the winner will be announced the following day.

We encourage our colleagues, partners and collaborators to take a moment to support Peter in this nomination and cast your vote before January 19.
