The Amsterdam Institute for Global Health and Development is co-organizing and co-sponsoring the 4^th international Association for the Social Sciences and Humanities in HIV (ASSHH) conference from July 20-23 in Amsterdam. The official opening event takes place July 20.

This official AIDS 2018 pre-conference is dedicated to promoting critical scholarship in the social sciences and humanities related to HIV/AIDS, and promoting dialogue about social science and humanities research within the scientific community and between researchers and affected communities.

Reflecting the increased need for engaged social science and humanities research in the global HIV response, the theme of the meeting is ‘Intensifying the social in the biomedical era’.
