Registration is open for HIV Next Gen, a free, three-day workshop that brings together the next generation of leaders committed to ending the HIV epidemic. It’s the first time the event is being organized.
Targeted for participants between the ages of 15 and 21, the workshop program integrates science, technology and culture to create a highly interactive, educational, and skill-building event.
As part of the program, students can expect:
- Real-life experiences from the community
- Inspirational activities/ lectures by the world’s leading experts, including Francoise Barre-Sinoussi, discoverer of HIV and Nobel Prize winner
- A stage to voice their perspective and solutions and put them into practice in the real world
- Leadership toolkit
Designed for the next generation of scientists, doctors and activists, HIV Next Gen attendees can also to meet with HIV researchers and global health advocates and visit the global village of the International AIDS conference.
The HIV Next Gen workshop takes place from July 22 to 24 at Amsterdam Rai and the Casa Hotel.
The Amsterdam Institute for Global Health and Development is part of the organizing committee for this inaugural event, which is led by Virology Education. Moving forward, the meeting will travel with the International AIDS Conference every two years.
