Dinis Nguenha is an infectious disease physician who holds an MSc in Control of Infectious Diseases from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) at the University of London. In 2023, he began his PhD at the Amsterdam UMC, University of Amsterdam, under the supervision of Prof. Frank Cobelens. His doctoral research explores the role of nutrition in tuberculosis risk in high-TB-and-HIV-burden settings, with a focus on both macro- and micronutrients.

Dr Nguenha’s scientific focus centres on the clinical epidemiology of tuberculosis and the development of innovative diagnostic tools, treatments, and vaccines, particularly within the evolving landscape of TB vaccine research. He is deeply committed to advancing novel strategies for estimating TB disease burden and to understanding tuberculosis across microbiological, clinical, and societal dimensions. His work emphasises cutting-edge approaches aimed at strengthening TB prevention and control, aligning with today’s urgent global health priorities.
